We are a very small cattery that hand raises a solid line of European Maine Coon kittens produced from a female from Bulgaria and a male from Lithuania. I personally flew to Sophia, Bulgaria to personally carry Margo back to the United States. I did the same for the male, except I went to Vilnius, Lithuania to retrieve Sambuca..aka Sam or Sammy.
I met their breeders and keep in contact with them on a regular basis to update them on the litters, if for nothing else other than general interest.
I grew up with cats and have spent many years with with them. Margo, upon meeting her for the first time was as if she had known me from the moment of her birth. She was the absolute best tempered kitten, affectionate and trusting of me. When we arrived Chicago O'Hare airport and transited thru customs and immigration, with her kitty passport, she exited the Terminal 5 baggage area with me and proceed to exit her carrier and she sat calmly atop the luggage helping me look for our Uber. She was not in the least bit phased by all the coming and going of passing people at a very busy time at the airport. She was a cool cat to say the least .
Sam... Sam. My fathers dog was named Sam. Sambuca is absolutely the craziest animal I have every had the pleasure to be around. He has the appearance of a wild cat but he has the heart of a little mischievous boy always getting into things and going places in our house you would not expect, but he is Sam. Like a dog, he follows me around incessantly except for when he is sleeping. When I am sitting at the computer or watching TV, chances are he is trying to get my attention to come play with him. He often goes to sleep with his head on my arm or shoulder. He has a great personality but demands attention. He is a very lean cat and the vet said he would remain this way as long as he was breeding and has his family jewels intact.
